Why was guidbedit needed here?

'cplic print -x' should reveal the signature string needed to remove it with 'cplic del'.

I tried to delete from cli using string but these are the central license which cannot be deleted from cli.

I used dbedit because when i tried to delete it from smartupdate getting error object is jot found.

Did you also try to see if it is shown in SmartConsole?

Gateways & Servers > Select Security Gateway > License tab at bottom

You cannot remove a license from a GW by running guidbedit on the management. This is not how it works. Use licensing tools, please

Which type of license is this Cloudguard / Vsec or other and what error did you see on the CLI?

$CPDIR/conf/cp.license
However, modifying this file directly is not recommended/supported, to the best of my knowledge.
Best to consult with the TAC: https://help.checkpoint.com

If its pnp license, you have to delete it from $CPDIR/conf

cd $CPDIR/conf

rm cp.pnp

Its just trial license (plug and play), so you will probably see warnings about it when running bunch of commands from expert mode, but thats expected.

Best,

Andy

@Mangesh

I meant warnings such as below

Andy

GetLicFromFile: Failed to open file: /opt/CPshrd-R81.20/conf/cp.pnp
pnp_init_blades: Failed to get data from PnP file: /opt/CPshrd-R81.20/conf/cp.pnp
This is Check Point's software version R81.20 - Build 011
