If we have a checkpoint appliance with 12 cores (Never Expires license), and we apply a trial "like CPSG-C-8-U". The number of cores will be changed or will go to 8 after the reboot?

You will not be reduced to 8 cores by applying an eval license on an existing licensed appliance that has more cores.
