Important! R80 and R80.10
End Of Support around the corner (May 2021)
Hi all,
We're in the process of upgrading all of our firewalls to R80.10 release. Our MDS has been upgraded already.
We've upgraded a number of SG's to R80.10 with the upgrade option with CPUSE.
However we need to do a clean install of our main security gateway cluster to R80.10 for a number of reasons.
Is it possible to do a clean install without changing the object in SmartConsole (except of course do a reinit of the SIC and upgrading the object to R80.10) and restoring the old configuration (and fwkern.conf setting) to the newly installed R80.10 gateway.
This all without disturbing the cluster setup to much?
Has anyone done this before? or with older releases of Gaia.
thanks in advance
Yes, it's possible to do a clean install of the gateway and not change the object in SmartConsole.
You will obviously have to reset SIC in this case, though.
In terms of the GAIA (OS) configuration: it is easy to export/import it: Export / Import configuration / partial configuration in Gaia
If you've configured anything outside of clish/WebUI (e.g. fwkern.conf), you will have to propagate those changes manually
