Deleting older backups from scheduled backup option in web UI

Hello everyone,

I know CP does not support scripts officially, so just wondering, is there any supported way to delete any scheduled backup from web UI thats say older than 90 days? I have a customer that is running scheduled backup locally on their 16000 appliance and they dont wish to keep anything for more than 3 months, but I cant find any option to do so either in web UI or from object properties in dashboard.

Im really looking for something similar to R77.x days from database revision, where you could choose when you wanted to start deleting old revisions...

Possible?

Any help would be appreciated.

Ty!

You can try and run this command, manually, after backing up the files in another location.

find/var/log/CPbackup/backups/ *-mtime +90 -exec rm {} \;

If it gives you what you want, you can schedule a crontab following :

I would suggest to call a scheduled script in GAiA WebGUI that removes old backups.

Sorry - i suggested to write a script in bash and clish and call it scheduled from System Management > Job Scheduler.

Ok, I see what you mean now :). I know people do that, but I was hoping there was something "built in" that does not require doing this, but I guess not...

Sorry, not the best in scripting...do you know of any such script I can use or does one exist that CP customers would use for this purpose that can either be imported from cli or GUI or ran as a cron job?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the info...so that command would search for any backup older than 90 days I presume? I would have to read the sk and see what the steps are.

We have added to R81 the ability to limit the number of Snapshots to be saved, so that when there is more than the set number, the oldest will be deleted.
For Backup there is no such capability yet, however, it is planned for future versions.

Hi Dov, can you please update if this option is available now on R80.40
