Hello,
this week I tried to install checkpoint R81.10 (tried also other versions like R80.30, R80.40) on a new Dell PowerEdge R640 Hardware.
This Server has a PERC H750P - Controller, officially only PERC H740P will be supported.
Any chance that I get it working anymore?
During Installation I get following output when partitioning starts:
Traceback (most recent call first): File "usr/lib/anaconda/autopart.py", line 1265, in doautoPartition partitions .autoClearPartDrivers = [disk[0]] # only first HD used. for now.... File "usr/lib/anaconda/dispatch.py", line216, in moveStep rc = stepFunc(self .anaconda) File "usr/lib/anaconda/dispatch.py", line 139, in gotoNext self .moveStep() File "usr/lib/anaconda/text.py" line 604, in run anaconda.dispatch.gotoNext() File "/usr/bin/anaconda", line 1000, in ?
anaconda.intf.run(anaconda) IndexError: list index out of range
Any chance that I get OpenServer working with a PERC H750P or do I really have to replace this controller?
Thanks.
I suspect this hardware will require R81.20 as it contains a newer kernel than R81.10.
Only Open Server hardware listed here is supported: https://www.checkpoint.com/support-services/hcl/
If you want something supported that's not on this list or you want it on a different version, reach out to your local Check Point SE to raise a hardware certification request.
Open a SR# with TAC to learn if there is a driver supporting it !
Did open a TAC case now. Perhaps someone can help me with this hardware.
The suggested way to proceed is: Look into HCL first, then ask TAC before ordering hardware.
And ?
Please discuss your HCL request with your local Check Point SE / office if not already.
I think that will be difficult if the controller is not in the HCL.
With a 3.10 kernel (6-7 years old :-(, downward compatible packages must be created. I think that will take a some time. I would open a TAC case or a feature request.
Did you fix this? I'm having this error too with my Dell Poweredge R740.
Any help?, i'm using Dell Poweredge R740 with PERC H750P - Controller and get this error, we have tried with differrent versions of OS , Isomorphic but no work at all.
As @Chris_Atkinson already said, you should probably discuss this with your local SE. If controller is not on the official HCL, then its most likely not supported.
(Yes, I'm a little late to this party, but there may be hope...)
Right now it is not supported. You will want to talk with your local SE and/or TAC to get the hardware certification process started for that controller.
Even I am facing the same issue with H750 raid controller- Dell
Do we have any solutions for it.
As dell company stated that, all the dell new servers are with RAID H750 controller.
In checkpoint site, we observed only H730 & H740 versions.
If it is not in HCL, it is not supported.
I had the same problem with a Dell Poweredge R740 server and a PERC H750P. Dell now ships this server with this controller ... at least in my case yes. This new controller is only supported with the R81.20 version which is now in EA. I have tested and installed it successfully. GA coming soon.
I have been awaiting the Public EA of R81.20 to test a Dell R740 with PERC 750.
Now that I have it, I cannot get it to go ("no disk"). Did you install yours using a USB drive and ISOMorphic? Was there anything special you needed to do with the BIOS/RAID config?
Please ignore. FYI in case anyone has same issue - Use the latest version of ISOMorphic to create the bootable image...
R81.20 now GA (21-nov.-2022) : https://supportcenter.checkpoint.com/supportcenter/portal?eventSubmit_doGoviewsolutiondetails=&solut...
Facing the same problem with DELL R740 using PERC H750 Controller.
DELL servers R740 now come with PERC H750.
R81.10 has no driver for this controller. I tried to install R81.20 and it's supported, but it's EA.
CP please help us with a new R81.10 ISO containing this driver 🙂
Hi Paulo,
I got the same PERC H750 controller.
Do you know if this issue remains?
I suspect this hardware will require R81.20 as it contains a newer kernel than R81.10.
Only Open Server hardware listed here is supported: https://www.checkpoint.com/support-services/hcl/
If you want something supported that's not on this list or you want it on a different version, reach out to your local Check Point SE to raise a hardware certification request.
Much appreciated PhoneBoy,
Perfect, I will raise the hardware certification request with my local CheckPoint SE.
Regards,
EC
The release of R81.20 is imminent and should resolve this.
For what it's worth, we went through the process of getting the R750 with the PERC H755 to be certified for R81.20.
