Changes in IPS packages

Hi All,

  • As part of our on-going security improvement efforts, we plan to introduce some changes in IPS packages
  • Target Date for this change: March 26th, 2023,
  • We have identified a limitation in SMB 1400, centrally managed by Smart Center/LSM;
  • This limitation is resolved on management side:
    • R81.20 (Future JHF)
    • R81.10 JHF 82
    • R80.40 (Future JHF)
  • If the fix is not applied on management side, Policy process will fail with the message "Operation failed, install/uninstall has been improperly terminated".
  • If changes on management are not possible during this time, one of the following can be conducted as a temporary mitigation:
    • Disable IPS updates
    • Disable IPS blade (not recommended)
  • More details: https://supportcenter.us.checkpoint.com/supportcenter/portal?eventSubmit_doGoviewsolutiondetails=&so...
