All port forwarding not working occasionaly (inc admin access and sslVPN) while ping works

So, the client had cameras installed and asked us to forward ports.

He complained they didn't work so I used nmap on the checkpoint and sometimes got good results and sometimes bad ones. didn't see any dropped packets in the logs or any packet loss through the ISP.

So I ran an nmap script and a ping test at the same time for a few hours and it seems that the ports go on and off all the time for no apparent reason but the weird thing is, when I got bad result, at the same time I had no loss at all with the ping test, and still, I didn't find anything interesting in the logs.

Any Ideas what it could be?

I believe it's a checkpoint SMB 1530 or 1550

Eventually I did a software update and the problem was solved

I tried to do it before but it was failing but I didn't connect the dots at that point

The update is probably based on the 443 port just like the VPN port so I just had to wait till the problem was on a break to try update it

2 things that come to my mind are maybe IPS (if enabled) and possible connections table issue. Locally or centrally managed smb?

Best,

How is the "port forwarding" configured in this case?
If it's a 1500 series, you should be using Server objects.
Also, please provide the firmware version/build information.

Also, just wondering, any specific ports that have the issue, or is it random?
