Access Checkpoint VPN from Ubuntu (22.04 - 23.10)

How to install and configure access to Checkpoint VPN Client in current versions of Ubuntu.

The previously available methods only work in versions prior to Ubuntu 22.04. And then previous methods stopped working.

Details: This method doesn't work anymore: https://support.checkpoint.com/results/sk/sk116576

The most current information on supported OS releases for SNX is here: https://sc1.checkpoint.com/documents/SSL_Network_Extender_AdminGuide/Content/Topics-SNX-Admin-Guide/...
Build 80008407 (available with recent JHF) supports Ubuntu 23.10.

And what is the proposed solution? From  small offices we have a S2S IPSec tunnel but if the Ubuntu clients are travelling they need something...

My current solution is to connect Ubuntu 2404 clients via Harmony SASE to the perimeter81 SD-WAN and then have a tunnel from there to my on premise CheckPoint gateway. The current Harmony SASE client works with Ubuntu 2404. Hope this helps temporarily.

Older snx version only supports up to that one, newer one, up to 23.10
