gateway name already in use

Hi,

I run into an issue today while re-adding a gateway to the SMS.

Basically a virtual gateways was connected to a SMS R81.20. For some reasons, I had to delete the policy for the gateway and to destroy the SIC.

While re-adding the gateway object in the smartcenter (name and IP address) , it stops with warning: Name already used.

Object explorer did not have this name. Guidbedit does not see the name, either.

Any idea which might prevent re-adding the gateway with the same hostname to management?

When you say, a virtual gateway, what do you mean? A VS?

not a VS/VSX. It is more a virtual device on a vmware based architecture.

In R80 at known limitations, i see
"

When creating a new object with IP address or name of a deleted object, the following message might show:

1. "There is another network object with the same IP address, are you sure you want to continue?"
2. "Name already used!"

To resolve the issue, close and reopen SmartConsole."

I guess, this is NOT the solution 😄

close and reopen SmartConsole did the trick....
