Upgrade from R77.30 to R80.10 failed during import process
Hi,
I am trying to upgrade our R77.30 management server to R80.10 using CPUSE.
The OS upgrades fine and then when importing the database, it fails with "Failed during import process".
I have tired this fix sk118795 but still no help.
I have attached the log file which was generated after the update failure.
In the log file I can see the following error:
[2018-02-22 - 18:23:37][3703 4157531920]:cannot find migrate log path.
[2018-02-22 - 19:18:34][3703 4157531920]:Failed on importing management configuration database to Destination
[2018-02-22 - 19:18:34][3703 4157531920]:------ Reverting Back: ------
Can someone help please.

I think you may also have a look at the CPUSe logs
/opt/CPInstLog/DeploymentAgent.log.*

Silly thought, but how's the disk space on the machine? There's lots to add during upgrade..?

Hi Thanks for the responses.
There is enough space on the machine. There isn't anything useful i can find in the deployment logs.

Then I'd suggest creating a sr at CP usercenter.

I just wonder about the used step: "when importing the database" - upgrading a R77.30 SMS using CPUSE should not need it... Consulting the Installation and Upgrade Guide R80.10 p.64 we read:
Upgrades from R77.x to R80.10 are supported with:
- CPUSE - In-place upgrade of the Security Management Server.
- Advanced migration ("Advanced Upgrade with Database Migration" on page 82) - Export of the database from the source R77.x Security Management Server and import to the target 80.10 Security Management Server

Hi @MikeB , unfortuantely this was not resolved. We are currently replacing the firewalls so no need to upgrade.

Hi Miguel,
I would like to try and assist you with the upgrade failure:
Can you share additional information:
1) Path is R80.10 to R80.30, correct?
2) Configuration - Security Management Server or Multi-Domain?
3) Can you send a zipped file of the /opt/CPInstLog?
You are welcome to contact me directly at tfridman@checkpoint.com
Best wishes
Tal

Hello,
A customer have the same problem. We are trying to upgrade Smart 1 405(which is only SMS) R80.10 to R80.30.
Absolutely the same issue. Two A/S FWs are 4600 appliances(8GB RAM) now with 80.10 they also should be upgraded after management.
BUT till now without any success. 😞
