Upgrade R80.40 MDS to R81

Hi there,

We are about to upgrade out R80.40 MDS to R81. MDS function is not in use anymore, it is only one domain in operation left.

What is the easiest path to upgrade ? Migrate MDS to single domain and then upgrade to R81 ?

Anyone that have experience of this ?

If you want to retain the multi-domain function, you can upgrade as is.
If you want to convert to regular security management, then make sure you’re on a recent JHF.
You should be able to import the domain into the security management server installed with R81, just make sure you use the correct options for that.

Thanks, we did an export today and that file was only 283MB compared to an MDS export that is around 3.4 GB.

(mgmt_cli migrate-export-domain domain "domainname" file-path "/home/admin/domain.tgz" ignore-vsx-validation true -r true)

What is the major difference between those two dumps would you say ?
