Hi
Is there a way to log users out of SmartView web after a certain amount of time? We would like to move our SOC away from using SmartConsole for the sole purpose of checking logs, but absence of idle timeout is kind of bugging me 🙂
Also, is there a way to disable SmartConsole login for a user and only allow SmartView WEB login?
Thanks
If your Management server /MDS is itself behind firewall, this should be trivial to achieve by limiting access from the users in question to port 443.
The overall management session timeout should be governed by:
To set the SmartConsole timeout:
When a SmartConsole is idle after this number of minutes, the SmartConsole automatically logs out the connected administrator.
This should terminate all management connections, including SmartView. Does it behave differently in your experience?
The management server is unfortunately not behind a firewall.
We have SmartConsole timeout set and it's working for SmartConsole sessions. It does not, however, log users out of SmartView web.
Hmm... perhaps this is an omission on Check Point's side.
@PhoneBoy , can you clarify if there is an option to auto log-off SmartView Web users gracefully?
I suspect it's an RFE.
