Smartconsole freezes while connecting to a domain

Does anybody know if its necessary special windows permissions to access a domain from smartconsole?

Everytime I try to connect to a domain, smart console would freeze, when I'm logged in a windows machine.

It's generally assumed you have local admin rights on your computer to run SmartConsole, though it's not strictly required with the Portable versions of SmartConsole.
What version/build are we talking about?

I can open the smartconsole even though I'm not local admin, but won't be able to connect to a domain through it.

If it's still an issue, I recommend a TAC case.

Independent of this, I highly recommend upgrading from R80.20.M2 as you're missing out on the regular jumbo hotfixes among other things.
