Smart Console automatic upgrade fails
Smart Console automatic upgrade fails all the time.
When I click on the "Update" icon in the menu bar, i get a popup saying "Update Downloaded, Install Pending", which then switches immediately to "Update Available, Download Pending".
When i choose "Check for Updates" manually from the menu, an xml file is created in C:\ProgramData\Check Point\SmartConsole R81.10 that indicates:
<LastUpdateError>Package validation failed</LastUpdateError>
How can i get automatic updates working on my PC?

I personally never had that issue, so things to check:
-see if it happens with other users?
-does it happen ONLY on your PC or other PCs as well?
-did you try uninstall/reinstall smart console?
-if you can, maybe try reboot mgmt server and see if issue persists

the problem is only on my PC as far as i can tell. i can update from another machine. But how can i fix it on my PC?

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the current take of the client on your machine to see if the issue persists?

Ok, then just try what we mentioned...uninstall/reinstall smart console on your PC and test.

OK, I uninstalled and reinstalled the previous take, now a new version is being offered, but the install does not succeed. same situation as the original question. what else can be done to troubleshoot? This occurs on a Windows 11 PC.

Very odd, I find...I can tell you I have that issue in S1C portal, but never on regular smart console.
