Whilst I've looked at this briefly before, I am using it today for the first time to build a new policy from scratch and have come across a "problem", which may simply be that it's not supported but i thought i'd drop it here to see if anyone has any comments about it.
Object Explorer.....
Whilst the slide out pane on the left is fine for creating a quick object, I always tend to use the full pop out version by hitting CTRL-E, but this doesn't appear work in Smart-1 Cloud (which may simply be the way it is). However, there is one function that you can do in there that you don't appear to be able to do at all in Smart-1 Cloud and that's to clone an object.
Is this just me not finding it, or is this function not available in Smart-1 Cloud?
Definitely you can do all that, just need to click on stream smart console at the bottom of the screen, it will give you full version, if you will.
Hey team,
Just to update quick, Steve and myself spoke over zoom and Im fairly sure below is whats needed for IoT policy. Steve may open TAC case if more details are needed.
Thanks a lot @StevePearson for talking to me, always GREAT to chat with fellow community members.

Thanks Andy!
I suspected it may be me missing it somewhere, never thought about streaming or connecting from local client! Every days a school day!
Can I ask you another question if thats ok...
The reason for this new policy is that i'm looking to change the management on a cluster of 1600 Sparks to use this rather than local management (lots of reasons behind this). The Spark has an IOT policy and I can't see how to recreate this within Smart-1. Are you able to point me in the right direction please?
Questions are free 🙂
Anyway, if you are allowed to do remote, I will be around little later, we can connect via zoom and check.
Let me know.
That would be appreciated thanks!
Let me know when you're free, i'll be around for the next 3-4 hours
Regards,
Steve
Im always happy to help my brothers and sisters on community. Will message you zoom when Im free.
@StevePearson Did streamed smart console work for you?
It certainly did thanks 😁👍
Good for zoom now? If so, can send you the link
Hi yes, that would be great thanks!

The default SmartConsole used with Smart-1 Cloud is Web SmartConsole.
The latest build of Web SmartConsole does not include Object Explorer; however, significant efforts have been made in recent months, and throughout 2026, to close key gaps compared to the Installed SmartConsole.
Hey Tal,
I just logged into one of our client's streamed smart console on S1C and it did show option for object explorer.

TAC update.....
I did raise this with TAC and after a bit of email exchange it turns out that you can't configure the IoT until AFTER the Spark is on-boarded. Apparently, once it appears as a gateway you can turn on the IoT blade and the required config options will appear. She did not know about the licensing but i'm going to assume that the 1600 license should cover it as that's the device doing the detection!
I guess i'll find out next weekend!
Ok, that actually does make sense. Thanks for letting us know!
Also Steve, just so you know, I called once @Don_Paterson Steve. and truth be told, its all YOUR fault lol
Not really sure how its my fault, but hey, it was amusing lol
Haha, Im just teasing you...it was me mixing up 2 names lol
