SMS Upgrade with migration
Hi Mates,
we are going to upgrade sms server from 80.30 to 81.10. We will go for upgrade with migration. But for migration in the old system there is only %3 free disk place. And customer wants to take all logs to new server. So we can not delete the old files. What would we do in that case?

Just be careful, do NOT delete anything, except the no longer needed .log files. What is the date for the oldest log file you see? Anything from 2022?

The oldest log files are unfortunately from 2023 May.

K, fair enough. I would verify with TAC, but not sure what else they can suggest if there are no older logs to delete, but worth a try.
Good luck mate.

Hello,
Every time i tried to migrate DB with logs i had problems. I would try to copy all log files to an external storage, do the migrate without logs, and then when your new server is running ok, copy log files to your new management and index them.

@the_rock Do I understood correct? If I migrate only the mgmt database to new mgmt server. Then simply copy the logs files manuelly to new management server. Then according, the link which you sent, indexing. So in that way should log migrate work and can I read the copied logs in the new mgmt server?

One more question; once clean install is done, should I install actual hotfix before migrate or after migrate. or does not matter?

Thats not for indexing though...more to open the logs in old school tracker.
