R80.20 Upgrade Verifier problem on R80.10 MDS

I'm trying to run the pre upgrade verifier to prepare for an upgrade to R80.20 to a new machine.

While running the verifier, first thing it does is a mdsstop, I get this error:

Performing verifications on currently installed version

psql.bin: could not connect to server: No such file or directory
Is the server running locally and accepting
connections on Unix domain socket "/tmp/.s.PGSQL.5432"?

Are you following procedure described in Upgrading Multi-Domain Servers in High Availability with Advanced Upgrade?

Mount original R80.20 clean Management ISO, run ./mds_setup ?

I copied the p1_install directory completely over to the machine and ran it from there.
I will try it the other way as well, was hoping to be able to avoid that.

Still the same errors, even with copying and mounting the CD.
I had already made sure all directory content had X properties.

You will never belief what R&D responded, they just tell you that there is no need to run a verification when migrating from R80.x to R80.x
I will send this information to the documentation dept as well.
