R80.10 Smartcenter rename

What are peoples experiences with renaming an R80.10 smartcenter server?

I have recently upgraded a customer's management server from R77.30 to R80.10  by doing a migrate export to a newly created VM, all went OK. They now want the host to be renamed. on a lab machine that I had exported the database to I followed the process as per sk112914 and it it seemed to work fine, however when I tried to do the same on the production server I got a warning that certificates needed to be recreated and I need to do a fwm sic reset.

CP TAC said that  sk112914 is not relevant as that is for r80 not r80.10, and that their is not an official process to follow and they do not recommend changing the host name.

I must second TAC - name of the R80.10 smartcenter server should not be changed, as it is much work to do even in R77.30 Smiley Sad. I can not see any reason that makes it inevitable.

If you change the name or IP of the Security Mgmt server, you'll need to re-initialize the ICA, and then reset SIC on all the managed Gateways. You can do this without a reboot using sk86521.

Wait a second guys... I just changed the name of customer's R80.10 SMS successfully a few months ago following the exact instructions from this sk (basically detaching the licenses first). I will test this out if something has changed...

I just tested this and it worked fine. Got no error messages. Just had to detach and re-attach licenses.
