R80.10 Management on Smart-205 with 16 GB memory?
Hi,
I was running R80 management in smart-205 and it was really slow and often not very responsive. I believe the limited memory of 4 GB was the biggest issue. I migrated to VmWare (and faced some non-check Point related VmWare issues). Has somebody tried R8010 management on smart-205 with the memory upgrade? We have 1 cluster, and I'd like to run atleast some of the management components in the smart-205 (mgmt, log, SE).

Even with 16GB of RAM the Smart-1 205 only has a Intel Celeron G1620 2.7GHz (Dual Core). Log indexing will not be enabled by default as it requires both 4 cores and at least 8GB of RAM. Trying to enable SmartEvent and/or index logging is likely to stress the cores even further. Probably will work but not recommended.

Officially we only support ONE of (with Smart-1 205 R80.10):
- Management
- Logging
- SmartEvent
I don't believe we restrict you to only one of these choices, but like you said: not recommended.
