MDS - cleanup free disk space settings

Hi,

does anyone know by chance how the disc space is calculated?

https://sc1.checkpoint.com/documents/R81.20/SmartConsole_OLH/EN/Topics-OLH/vwK5t6zTMBSQrMNZ7ZZ8Ug2.h...

Cleanup when free disk space is below - Start the disk cleanup procedure when available disk space is less than the specified quantity. Select to enable (default). Clear to disable. Enter the minimum disk space and unit of measure (Default is 5GB)

Is the baseline the /var/log/ or the raid disksize or anything else?

Having 10 TB of /var/log and set the parameter to cleanup when free disk space is below '10%'

I would expect that it deletes

- when exceeding 9 TB /var/log/ immediately

- deletes oldest log files.

Or am I'm wrong?

Thanks

Regards

I assume you mean this setting?

  • Cleanup when free disk space is below - Start the disk cleanup procedure when available disk space is less than the specified quantity. Select to enable (default). Clear to disable. Enter the minimum disk space and unit of measure (Default is 5GB)

If so, to me, sounds like your assumption is correct. Say once it reaches 1GB free space, or what you said, 10% of 10 GB, which os 1 GB, then it would start deleting old log files right away

Best,
Andy
