License for VM Management server

Hi All,

we bought two new appliances (6000 series) and i would like to deploy them like two GWs in the cluster and have separate VM for management. But i confused in licensing, where to take license for management? we already have same config with almost same GWs also series 6000, but CheckPoint guy helped to deploy licenses....

could somebody advise?

thanks

The physical gateways include a management license, but it only runs on the appliance itself.
If you want a separate management VM, that requires purchasing a separate license.
For on-prem, that means an NGSM-5 which can manage up to five gateways.
For cloud-managed (using Smart-1 Cloud), I don’t remember the exact SKU offhand, but you can purchase management for two gateways and it should be cheaper than an NGSM-5.
