How to backup policy and DataBase

Hello Everyone,

I need your help to clarify one point.

Today in my locations where I had one standalone security gateway I have an automatic weekly backup to execute the GAIA backup and every month I did one manual snapshot backup, it is ok for me, but the snapshot is a harness to hardware and the question is, how can I do one completely backup (Policy, conf, Database) that I can restore in a VM for example?

For moving the policy configuration into a VM, you’re going to use the migration tools.
In the relevant install/upgrade guide for your version, it’s referred to as an Advanced Upgrade, though the same process can be used to stand up the same version in a VM.
