Perform backups of the log server in question as well as management servers and SmartEvent (using WebUI).
During maintenance window, change IP address of the log server either via WebUI or CLI:
LogServer> set interface eth0 ipv4-address 192.168.7.31 mask-length 24
LogServer> save config
Reset SIC communication:
LogServer> cpconfig

In your management server, edit the LogServer object by:
1. Changing its IP
2. Resetting and reinitializing SIC
From SmartConsole, install database and push policy to all gateways.
This should do it, unless there are some quirky settings particular to your environment that I am not aware of.
If your environment is not a large one, perform snapshots of each Check Point component before making changes.
