Domain export in R80.20 MDS failed

Hi All,

We currently have MDS running on R80.20. We need to export one of the domain so we can import it to another MDS box. We are following sk156072, but failed to export one of the domain because that domain contain VSX objects.

When we run "mgmt_cli backup-domain domain RS_Components file-path /home/admin/RS_Components_R80.20_Backup" , we get below error.

"Backup Domain failed: Domain RS_Components contains VSX objects. Please follow the procedure described in 'R80.X VSX Domain Backup/Restore WhitePaper'."

Does anyone have any idea what exact needs to be done to resolve this issue.

Domains containing VSX object are not supported in the new tools yet.

They are looking into it but do not expect this to be available the next couple of months.

So can we directly migrate domain from R77.30 to R80.20 using R80.20 Migration tool?

With the original R80.20 tools you can migrate from R77.30 to R80.20.

Sorry, but can you explain what does it mean when you say original R80.20 tool. Is it not the same which we download from below link?

I was successfully able to migrate a domain from R77.30 to R80.20 with VSX objects

Well that is good to hear. The original upgrade tools are still to be found on the installation ISO of R80.20.
