Diskspace R80.10 MDS

Hi,

I see that the documentation specify "free disk space" as 1 TB (installation includes OS)

Is this to account for LOG:s or what comes the big number from?

We are running MDS, MLM and Event on separate boxses.

So currently we have.

MDS

MLM

Regards,

Magnus

As far as I am concerned, they just multiplied SMS requirement (500GB) by two.

I assume this accounts for the extra space required by Indexed Logs (previously SmartLog)--default in R80.10.

Currently we running R77.30 and have smartlog active.
But iguess it would be good to add 100GB on each box just to be on the safe side.
What is it in R80.10 that makes it takes more space, only the indexed logs?

Not only. Management database is now a real database, in fact, two databases. With java binaries, that will take more space than jsut a bunch of plain text files, as before.

While what you say is certainly true, an interesting thing to note is that sometimes in specific cases the database has actually shrunk. Sometimes by up to 80%! This is mainly due to the changes in revision control and other obsolete data that is no longer needed/used in R80/R80.10.

Obviously that number varies drastically and 80% was just one extreme example that I noticed, but still...

Adding more disk space is definitely recommended.
