Differences between several log file types

Hi community,

Do you know what are the differences between these log file types:

<Log File Name>.log

<Log File Name>.logLuuidDB

<Log File Name>.logaccount_ptr

<Log File Name>.loginitial_ptr

<Log File Name>.logptr

When I run watch -d -n 2 "ls -l log_path" I see some of them change and others don't.

Regards,

Julián

The .log file is the main data file, but in the native format it is unreadable without those additional files, referred to as pointer files. The native format is compressed and cannot be read by a text file but takes up less disk space.

The pointer files can be recreated if you only have the .log file.
