Deleting old packages in CPUSE
Hi,
After installing R80.10 JHF Take 169, Take 121 gets uninstalled. You end up with these two left:
If you delete SegmentSmack packages first, then Take 121 it will be fine. By a mistake I deleted Take 121 first and then tried to delete SegmentSmack package which doesn't work since right-clicking don't give me any options.
If I download manually Take 121 again, will I be able to right-click on SegmentSmack package and choose "Delete from disk"?

Hello Enis,
Thank you, that pointing this out! In the sunday this issue will be reproduced and investigated.
Please tell me, which version of the Deployment Agent (DA) are you using?
Regards,
Dmitry

Also trying to install take 169 will fail since you can't uninstall Take 121 because you have hotfix installed on top of Take 121 for SegmentSmack.
Solution. Uninstall SegmentSmack package first, reboot and then try to install Take169 again which will work fine.

What about CLI CPUSE ? In many cases of error in WebGUI, CLI worked just fine !
That any HF installed over a Jumbo HFA must be uninstalled first before upgrading to a newer Jumbo take is documented very well and will be explained in CPUSE WebGUI on Jumbo install otherwise...

I will check with CLI CPUSE later Gunther. I know, but since they try to uninstall Take121 when installing Take 169, there could also be some kind of check first to see if any hotfix is installed on top of Take 121 and remove it first or give an error before it even starts installing take 169

Did you ever look into the Jumbo HFs, especially the installation scripting section ? Thank good that it is just complicated enough to give us headaches, but mostly will work just o.k. 😉
There is a verify possible that will give the error, and an error will show after initiating installation, so i do not understand your point here...

and an error will show after initiating installation that's my point. Why even initiate when it knows that it will fail. No big problem. Case closed.

You do the initiate - the sw tells you that it is not possible. If a shell script would be able to read your mind a day before, would that be sufficient ?

You do the initiate - the sw tells you that it is not possible. Maybe I didn't manage to explain correctly and it sounded stupid. Just meant that instead of trying to uninstall take 121 that it should try to uinstall the hotfix first and then continue with take 121.
I don't like your sarcastic comments in this community.
