Maestro and LOM
Question: What is the added value of LOM cards in Quantum appliances when used with Orchestrator ?

It's purpose remains as for normal appliances but doesn't directly benefit the Orchestrator itself.
For this and other reasons having out-of-band console server connectivity is recommended for Maestro deployments.

So in which situations would Maestro deployments benefit from LOM on the used appliances ?

Perhaps some emergency situations where remote console access is unavailable (i.e. no console server)
So hypothetically this might be things like:
* SGM boot issues
* SGM rebuild scenarios
* SGM monitoring
Again, console access is usually recommended for Maestro/Scalable Platform.

Last month one of our customer had a problem with freezing appliances in a Maestro setup.
A reboot was only possible with power off via LOM Port and the only access to the appliance was too the LOM port.
This is a very useful thing for a LOM Port on the appliance.

This makes it perfectly clear why a LOM Port on the appliance makes sense - thank you !

Additionally to things that were already said:
I am a fan of installing major versions not via CPUSE. I prefer making a fresh install via LOM ISO mount.
Reason: When upgrading via CPUSE the revert image which is used when fcd an appliance will not be upgraded.
So in case of you need to fcd and you did the latest major upgrade via CPUSE you always have to upgrade the major version and installing the latest JHF.
This takes time and time can be a problem in specific scenarios.
So for imaging an appliance there are two options: USB or LOM.
If the appliances are in a remote datacenter USB can be a challenge.
