how to deploy firewall to protect IP cameras

Hi Pros,

I have never deployed fw checkpoint to protect the camera system. Therefore, I would like to discuss the following issues.
1. use case 1:
Firewall iot presets and protects IP camera devices, but still allows external control to the camera, that is, from the outside network goes through FW to control the camera such as zoom, rotate direction (image "use case 1")
2. use case 2:
The cameras are managed by the NVR (network video recoder). Fw iot presets and protects the NVR. NVR provides an external service to access and read real-time camera data (live video) via web and api (image "use case 2")
Please help me asap!

So what is your question ? Define rules for the used services, restrict access to certain users and that is all ! Business as usual...

Dear Prof.

My questions are it possible to implement FW CP for the above 2 cases? and the questions in the attached image?
From the outside network, user goes through FW to control the camera such as zoom, rotate direction?

In general yes, but you've not really provided any specifics as to the requirements of these cameras and how the manufacturer/vendor expects they would operate/communicate in either case.

Moreover you should consider:

1. Segmentation & Access control
2. Remote & Priviledge access
3. IPS & Threat Prevention

IoT aware solutions such as our IoT Protect can help with the above.

apologies for the delay.

IoT Protect can handle both cases. if you need any further help please let me know
