Want to upgrade Checkpoint VSX management server from R80.40 to R81.20

Hi Team,

I am planning to upgrade our VSX Management server from R80.40 to R81.20. Want to know the steps. is it same as normal managements server or its different. also what are the best steps to upgrade the VSX cluster gateways.

Assuming you have no custom configurations, you should be able to just use the upgrade tools from R81.20 to export the database (which will include the licenses), then import into R81.20 device with the same name/IP.

I would suggest doing a clean installation of R81.20 to take advantage of the filesystem fix, also lab it, I still do this with every customer migration regardless.

Yes we have custom configurations , is it same upgrade as normal gateway management upgrade?

As Val has said, yes, but I would suggest you have a backup of the files you have changed.
