VRRP - yes or no
I see a lot of articles about VRRP in the last days.

We have and we still use VRRP also for other reasons, not in a cluster environment. This is in a very special setup with a network loadbalancer / prioritizer / compresion unit. Here the default route is shared between a router and the FW based on VRRP.

We have over 600 Check Point customers and have all switched to ClusterXL. I see no need to use VRRP.

Right, one of the possible use cases for VRRP is using an external load balancer as I mentioned here:
