Unable to upgrade from R80.40 to R81.10

Hi Guys,

I am trying to upgrade a management server version R80.40 to R81.10. I tried in-place upgrade first but it failed hence I then went on with migrate_server method and manually exporting/importing method but that failed as well with below error.

Any clue?

Upgrade Failed
Failed: Upgrade of "SMC User".

  • Error Message  failed to run upgrade on CpmiGtpService
  • Objects  214018
  • Upgrade Rate  2102 Objects Per Second
  • Import Time   19:05:07 - 19:06:49

Finally the issue resolved on my own and sadly no response from TAC yet 😞

Any way here are the issues. 

I ran cpmDoctor script from $FWDIR/script and it pointed out 3 issues. 

One with wrong NAT policy, deleted Default GEO policy and Lots of errors with IPS blade with one of profile

Hence I corrected those as NAT was configured for IP range and it was wrongly configured. Completely deleted the IPS profile.

Took database_export after this but unfortunately it was still not working and here thanks to @Tal_Paz-Fridman for giving me hints and yes indeed surprisingly duplicate objects were created for GTP service and it wasnt allowing me to delete the objects which are by default created while it was allowing me delete the duplicate ones. I deleted those, installed database.

Took again database export and imported and voila it was successful finally.

I had issue like this before and I opened html file generated and said you can run the command again, but with --ignore_warnings flag, which I did and then it worked fine.

Did that as well but -ivw flags which is same but still no luck. Might need to involve TAC; I guess

Personally, I would. I checked that error in support site and there is literally 1 sk that comes up, but I dont believe its overly relevant, as it talks about R7x versions

Well thanks for the help and that is the first thing I did after failure occurred but could not match exact details and then went ahead and was looking at the various logs but unable to find any concrete evidences behind failure.

Hi

Thank you for opening a case with TAC - I hope they can solve it quickly.

Just from looking at the error message, it might be related to GTP Services. Can you check if you made any changes to the default GTP Services or added new ones?

Its been more than 2 days and no response from TAC. 

 

May be something related to gtp let me see. thanks for the hint though
