Sticky Decision Function

In which case is a Sticky Decision Function relevant with Load Sharing Multicast or High Availability?

SDF and Load Sharing are not supported together, so only HA.

Refer to: SecureXL and Sticky Decision Function in ClusterXL Load Sharing mode

Hi Dameon,

I think you confused the terms with SXL. SDF is relevant on Load Sharing scenarios since the traffic (according to IP, Ports or SPI's) traverses always the same gateway when it's enabled, however as you stated, SecureXL is disabled when SDF is in use. For High Availability, all traffic traverses always the same gateway, so SDF is not relevant.

According to ClusterXL Admin Guide:

Note that the Sticky Decision Function (SDF) is gone in R80.20+ due to the major overhaul of SecureXL in that revision, and has been replaced with the Cluster Correction Layer mechanism described here: sk169154: Asymmetric connections in ClusterXL R80.20 and higher
