Service ipmi start failed

Hello,

I am traing to get ipmi service up, but i am getting a failed error.

with show lom version i'am getting

"couldn't start IPMI service

LomErr 003 Get LOM information failed"

It seems like ipmi driver missing.

Does someone faced the same problem?

Is there a way to install manually the driver?

Thank you in advance

It might be necessary to load the modules.

From sk92998:

[Expert@HostName:0]# modprobe ipmi_msghandler
[Expert@HostName:0]# modprobe ipmi_devintf
[Expert@HostName:0]# modprobe ipmi_si

Based on some other internal searches, it might also be an issue with the LOM itself. I would open a case with TAC for additional investigation.

# modprobe ipmi_s
FATAL: Error inserting ipmi_si (/lib/modules/2.6.18-92cpx86_64/kernel/drivers/char/ipmi/ipmi_si.ko): No such device

I would give TAC a call and have them advise on next steps.

Do you have LOM card in the first place?

Meaning you don’t have a LOM installed.
It could be you have a LOM installed and there is an issue with it, in which case a TAC case is in order.
