SK Search now Requires Login?

I went to search for some very basic documentation, and now we apparently need to log in to SEARCH?

The "Not now" link dismisses the modal, but DOESN'T DO ANYTHING. The search doesn't happen.

 

Are you kidding me? How do you keep managing to find ways to make interacting with you worse and worse?

It also caught me by surprise a day or two ago.
I'll see what I can find out.

Before that, we had to re-login at least 25 times per day to keep using the Expert+ features of the Support Center, so we suppose this wasn't enough. 😀

One of logical reason I can think of is that Check Point wants to prevent DDoS attacks or huge demand using search function by some bots.

Or simple allow searching only for Customers and Partners.

Wondering how this new feature will have impact on google results/cache.

On the other side, majority of all articles require you to log in to see Solution. So you have to be logged in in order to see the Solution (even if it is just "Contact Check Point and be ready with cpinfo").

From what I understand, direct links to SKs should still work without authentication as before, subject to the need (in some cases) to be logged in to view the Solution.
It's the search function that requires being logged in now, which was, as I understand it, done because of a significant increase in automated bot requests that negatively impacted performance.

I just tested direct links as well, but same problem, its asking to log in.
