Request Standard Process to add a new 6400 cluster member to MDS
Dear Friends!
I have a faulty 6400 series hardware, which is part of Active/Stand-by cluster(R81.20) and is managed via MDS(R81.20). I have to configure the new firewall of same make, model and OS version as the faulty one and other working cluster member. Only thing changing will be the MAC address of the new firewall. The concerned firewalls are 6400 series.
Please share laid down standard process for the adding the new hardware to cluster and 'also' how to add to MDS. Also, share your inputs/ideas or prospective issues which might come into play, thank you all.
Kr,
MVS

What backups were taken from the old unit?
You can restore the OS configuration manually if needed to match the old unit.
You should then be able to reuse the existing object and establish SIC to the new unit.

Thanks Admin, I plan to take firewall configuration and snapshot backups. Could you please share details of restoring OS configuration manually?
