Pasting clish BGP MD5 secrets?

We are planning a move to some new appliances and I am not sure if the clish BGP md5 secret configuration is directly pastable to a new device. It looks like it should be, as with other hashes like user and expert, but can anyone confirm? RADIUS secrets are not pastable for example.

e.g.

set bgp external remote-as 65xxx peer x.x.x.x authtype md5 secret already_scrambled_xxxxx_000000000000000000000000000000

I suspect the plaintext may not be known, so trying to figure out ahead of time whether we need to set a new secret on both sides or if pasting the original will work.

I've never had it work when copy/pasting the hashed secret, so if you don't know the passphrase then I would recommend setting a new one at the cutover.

@emmap  is 100% right. I tried this few times and sadly never worked. You would definitely need to set up new one.

Best,
Andy
