Must-Have Book on Check Point

Hi Mates,
I’d like to share with the community a book that you may not be aware of, but that I personally find extremely valuable:

“Check Point Firewall Administration R81.10+: A Practical Guide to Check Point Firewall Deployment and Administration”

I started reading and studying it a few days ago, and I’m really enjoying it. The book is very well written, clear, and practical, with a lot of valuable insights.

If you have the opportunity to buy it, I definitely recommend it.
It’s proving to be a great learning resource for me.

I bought Tim’s book a while ago as well in digital form but unfortunately i kept it locally and later my Mac has been wiped accidentally and nobody from responsible team was able (or willing) to find out why.

Thats unfortunate...I see newest edition is about 60$ on Amazon, but so worth the money. Knowledge you get with it is vast.

I wanted to attend the gateway performance training but no schedules in my timezone seen. I guess I will buy the book, company pays.

I never expensed it to my boss, though 100% sure he would have paid me back for it. I find the book EXCELLENT, to say the least.

29€ in Germany. That's surprisingly cheap. 
It's not even worth submitting the costs for a few euros, even though I'll get reimbursed for a reference book anyway.

Please note that this second edition was published in January 2018 and covers versions R80.10, R77.30, and Gaia kernel 2.6.18.

Agree, thats aboput 45$ CAD, thats very affordable for such a valuable book. I spoke with customer few months ago who attented virtual Tim's course (2 days I believe) and he said it was the BEST IT training he ever had. I know that guy well, so he would never say something like that, unless he meant it.

Even just going through the book, you can tell the knowledge Tim has and the genuine effort he put into it, lots of work, but result is outstanding.

That's the second edition, you want the third edition which covers R80.30 and Gaia 3.10.  Or if you can wait a few months, there may be another option.  😀

Customer told me yesterday they bought this book last year, they LOVE it. I know its bit more expensive than other ones, but htye, you get what you paid for, ie in this case, EXCELLENCE.

Never even heard of this author, but if you look at their other 16 published books, they are all over the place content-wise, and one of them got a 1-star review stating it was AI slop.  The preview of this book didn't include even a single illustration or screenshot, which is a bad sign.  Can't see how this one guy is such an expert in so many disparate areas.

Im with you Tim, does not make much sense to me either. Plus, no offense, but considering it was only 20$, most likely not that useful, but I should get it shortly, so will update later on its content.
