How to replace smart-1 525 R80.20 as 600-S R81.20 with 5-6 gateways SIC-communicating

Hi engineers,

I am assigned replacement of Smart-1, and have to make it clear how to correctly do it.

My brief experience says I just disconnect the current SIC, replace Smart-1 with new one, and redo SIC.

Is that right?

That would be appreciated if you provide me with some documents about it.

No need to redo SIC, follow the Advanced Migration steps in the R81.20 Install and Upgrade guide and you'll be fine.

Personally, I never had tore-do SIC when doing process like this. Not saying it would never be needed, but usually its not required.

If you do an Advanced Migration to the new Smart-1 and push policy to the gateways from the new Smart-1, SIC will be established to the new Smart-1 going forward.

Dear Andy,

Thank you for sharing your experience, which helps me a lot!

Well now I believe I do not have to worry about things associated with SIC...
