Hi Everyone,
I’d like to highlight the Green feature, available starting R82.10 release, which can be enabled on supported Check Point Enterprise Firewalls Appliances to improve power efficiency during periods of low system utilization.
Green dynamically optimizes power usage by adjusting the uncore frequency when CPU load is low, while keeping the appliance fully operational. When higher performance is required, the system automatically returns to its default behavior. This transition is transparent and does not impact traffic handling, performance or security processing.
This makes Green particularly relevant for environments with variable workloads, allowing systems to reduce power consumption when operating below peak capacity, while continuing to deliver full performance when needed.
The feature is available starting with R82.10 and is disabled by default.
Supported appliances: 9300, 9400, 9700, 9800, 19100, 19200, 29100, 29200
To enable Green (Dynamic Balancing must be enabled):
set dynamic-balancing config ENABLE_GREEN value 1
save config
To disable Green:
set dynamic-balancing config ENABLE_GREEN value 0
save config
For additional details, prerequisites, and behavior, see SK184700
If you are running a supported appliance on R82.10 or later, it is recommended to review this feature and consider enabling it.
Best regards,
Yaron
