Dynamic balancing condition
Hi
I have upgraded my firewall to R81.20 and enable dynamic balancing. I found the condition when firewall need to increases or decreases instance from below article.
- Average difference in CPU utilization between CoreXL Firewall and SND instances is greater than 10%.
https://sc1.checkpoint.com/documents/R81/WebAdminGuides/EN/CP_R81_PerformanceTuning_AdminGuide/Topics-PTG/CoreXL-Dynamic-Balancing.htm
From the $FWDIR/log/dsd.elg file. I saw the log
FWs filtered average: 1.5 | SNDs filtered average: 3.5
!
FWs filtered average: 10.9 | SNDs filtered average: 0.5
ds_change_vsx: performing action Add Instance
!
FWs filtered average: 10.9 | SNDs filtered average: 0.5
ds_change_vsx: performing action Add SND
From log entrie "FWs filtered average: 10.9 | SNDs filtered average: 0.5" It mean if difference greater than 10% the dynamic balancing will change instance right ? and How about the interval time that firewall monitor and compare SNDs and FWs
Thank you

The 10% refers to the average difference in CPU utilization between CoreXL Firewall and SND instances.
Not sure how often it monitors this, but from demos, it seems to kick in relatively quickly.
