10/25 Gbps NICs for HPE ProLiant DL380 G10
Hi,
We need to replace some open servers with new hardware and would like to use HPE ProLiant DL380 G10.
The firewalls are connected to Cisco Nexus 9000 switches that support 10/25 Gbps.
In the HCL I can see that the following two NICs are supporting those speeds:
- HPE Ethernet 10/25Gb 2-port 661SFP28 Adapter
- HPE Ethernet 10/25Gb 2-port SFP28 MCX4121A-ACUT Adapter
Have any of you used either of those NICs and have a recommendation for which one to use?
I would like to ensure that e.g. Multi Queue is supported and working well.
Thanks for your help!
Harry

We use the second option which are NICs from Mellanox (the other one is Intel). We use them with 25G and have no issues but to be honest we never had any issue with Intel based NICs either. As far as I know the Check Point appliances also use Mellanox NICs for the most part so you could possibly argue that these are somewhat better tested (i40e (Intel) vs mlx5_core (Mellanox) drivers).
