Is there a way to synchronize the time displayed in SmartEvent and SmartView Web Based?
I have noticed that the logs displayed are one hour off in SmartView Web Based.
SMARTEVENT> show clock
What version/JHF?
Also does the same problem occur in WebSmartconsole? https://support.checkpoint.com/results/sk/sk170314
I have R81.10 JHF 156
This problem only occurs with SmartView Application Web, and I have reviewed the points shared by @the_rock and @Amir_Senn
I was reading the R81 Logging and Monitoring Administration Guide and found a note in the SmartView Web Application section
Could this be the problem of the one hour offset even though it has already been checked that the correct time zone is in the smartevent, sms and gws?
I never experienced that issue myself, either in production, or the lab. I would call into TAC and see if you can do remote session. I feel like something simple is missing here.
Andy
Make sure below is correct from the settings in smartview.
Andy
Hi,
Logs are written in UTC time and are shown with adjustments to system time automatically.
If there's issues with the time difference I suggest doing the following:
a. Check time and time-zone on log server
b. Check time and time-zone on gateway
c. Check if you defined any custom time zone settings (like @the_rock mentioned in his comment)
I agree with that. I still believe setting I pointed out is what might be off.
Lets see 🙂
Andy
Hi,
I have reviewed all this points but I have the same time.
Can you then send us what you see in the smart view from what I mentioned? Also, what @Amir_Senn asked...times on both gateway(s) and the mgmt server? Just do show clock or show date on both.
Andy
Sure
This is what I see related what you mentioned
And this is about mgmt server and gateways, it is the same in both
Does it happen from every PC you access the SmartView Webapp?
Isn't the time in Web SmartView shown as timezone of workstation from where you opened Web SmartView ?
If you have UTC+2 timezone on your workstation, all timestamps in Web SmartView will be seen as UTC+2.
Should be
I just tested it and does not appear thats actually true. I set my windows pc test machine to CDT and my smartview still showed EDT.
I believe more has to do what time shows on actual mgmt/gateway, NOT machine where smart console is installed.
