Solved: R81.10 to R82

Hi all, My SMS/GWs is currently on R81.10 JHT 172.
SMS: Smart-1 600S
GW: (2) CheckPoint 6600

Do I understand correctly, that I should upgrade to R82 before July 2025.
Am I able to upgrade from R81.10 directly to R82 or are these clean installs?

R81.10 goes end of support in March 2026 according to Support Life Cycle Policy (I don't see the 6600 appliance listed

According to R82 Supported Upgrades Paths , you can upgrade to R82 from R81.10.

For what this advice is worth, I 100% suggest upgrading your management to R82. I did it in 2 of my labs, no issues. As far as gateways, just to be on the safe side, I would wait at least until its recommended by Check Point, which might be soon.

Test feed is great feature in R81.20...my HONEST recommendation and I had been suggesting this to everyone these days...mgmt to R82, gateways R81.20.

Would it be fine to have the SMS on R82 and Gateways on R81.10 for a while? YES : - )

Thank you for confirming! I didn't see 6600 on there too, and was a bit worried I might have missed something.

Thanks, @the_rock . I'm 100% going to look into that 😁!
I'm looking forward to the "test feed" feature I saw in Phoneboy's API webinar, and I'm sure a bunch of other nice things R81.10 doesn't have.

Would it be fine to have the SMS on R82 and Gateways on R81.10 for a while?
Where would they announce that the gateways will be ok to upgrade to R82?

Hey mate,

Just to make sure this works 100%, I built R81.10 gw in the lab, installed same jumbo, was able to upgrade it fine to R82, no issues, latest jumbo 14 as well.
