Gaia WebUI / Admin Login Page Not Opening After Configuration on Check Point R77.20 VMware Lab

Hi everyone,

I am a beginner working on a Check Point R77.20 lab in VMware Workstation using Windows 7 SmartDashboard.

Everything is working properly:

* Policy installation successful

* Static routes configured

* Firewall traffic working

Problem: The Gaia WebUI / Admin Login Page is not opening in browser anymore.

Earlier during initial configuration the Gaia wizard/login page was opening in Internet Explorer, but after configuration and policy installation it stopped opening.

I already checked:

* Port 443 is listening: netstat -an | grep 443

Output shows:

0.0.0.0:443 LISTEN

* `cpwd_admin list` shows CPHTTPD process running

* Tried Internet Explorer and Firefox ESR

* Enabled TLS 1.0/1.1/1.2

* Tried https://<firewall-ip>

* Policy installation and connectivity are working fine

Question:

How can I restore/open the Gaia Admin Login Page again after configuration on R77.20?

Is there any service that needs restarting or any Gaia WebUI fix for old R77 VMware labs?

That is expected. R77.20 is a very old version. HTTPS parameters in the WebUI will not work in any modern browser. 

You need to play with one of the supported versions.

Time to trash this lab as posted before 😀

Work with versions like R82.10 / R82 or R81.20 , order is my preference. While you are at it trash the windiws 7 also for same reason. 

You get a trial after fresh installation so keep in mind that yo can play around for some time. Try to build a cluster and a fwmgt system.
