What Happens When Harmony Endpoint License Limit is Exceeded?

Hi,

I am currently managing Check Point Harmony Endpoint for my organization, and I have encountered a situation where the number of installed clients exceeds the available license capacity.

We have 220 licenses, but I have installed the endpoint solution on 225 machines. My questions are as follows:

  1. What happens when the number of devices exceeds the licensed capacity by a few units (in this case, 5 devices)?

  2. Are these 5 unlicensed devices still protected? If not, what kind of protection gaps should I be concerned about?

  3. Is there any automatic throttling or deactivation of features when the license limit is exceeded?

  4. Will Check Point provide any warnings or alerts for this kind of situation, and if so, what are they?

  5. How does this impact endpoint security? Can these unlicensed machines still receive critical updates and threat intelligence?

I would greatly appreciate any insights or advice from the community, particularly from those who have encountered similar situations.

Meanwhile, we also applied to purchase 10 licenses.

I can only speak when I noticed such a situation 2 years ago with one of our customer (maybe things are bit different now). They exceeded count by 20 and there was never an issue, those machines were protected, they would get an update, and no features were ever removed or deactivated.

To be 100% sure, I would still double check with your local SE and (or) Account services as well.

Hope that helps.

There may be a overage allowance like there is with Remote Access users.
In any case, as I understand it, you would not be able to activate an Endpoint installation if you are exceeding your license quota.
Best to confirm this with your local SE or possible TAC (not sure Account Services can answer this question).

Thats true, now that I think about it, makes sense Account services might not be able to assist in this matter, but SE definitely should be.
