Harmony Web Protection - Manifest V2 End of life

Hello,

Google Chrome will be phasing out Manifest V2 in favor of V3, a long-planned transition. Manifest defines how extensions will function and their capabilities. With V3, extensions are faster and more secure. The trade-off is that they have less “power,” which contributes to increased security.

In the case of Harmony Web Protection, it will be impossible to monitor real-time traffic as I believe it currently does.

I just checked my browser (Microsoft Edge - Chromium-based) and the extension and manifest used is V2.

What is Check Point’s response regarding the imminent non-functionality of your extension?

Best regards.

I've installed Google Chrome and you do have a version with Manifest V3. That's great news! You'll have to deploy it on other browsers?

All Google Chrome users should already be using a Manifest v3 extension.

Microsoft has been less specific about when they will transition Edge to requiring Manifest v3 extensions.
Having said that, we plan to transparently migrate all Microsoft Edge users to a Manifest v3 extension in the coming weeks.
