It sounds like it would be faster to tear down and stand up a new deployment with the right license.

That approach is definitely required for a PAYG to BYOL move (or vice versa) such is the way it's baked into the PAYG Azure images, suspect it's similar here unfortunately.

From what I understand , because the license is provided by the Cloud Vendor in the Deployment and not directly from Check Point then you will need to deploy new Gateways with PAYG-NGTP , replace them in your environment and then destroy your PAYG-NGTX Gateways.
