How does CloudGuard gateway licensing work

Hello all,

I'm new to the licensing portion of the checkpoint solution.

We are deploying a system in AWS and I'm trying to wrap my head around  how licensing works with the autoscaling gateways.

I have a bunch of licenses. One is for the managment server itself, and there are a bunch of virtual core licenses.

I found how to add the licenses using the smart console (R80.40). Do I attach all the licenses to the management server? Will it divvy the core license out to the gateways as needed? Or do I need to manually split the licenses depending on how many gateways I have and IP them accordingly and apply individually?

Any help appreciated.

Central licensing is based on the licenses being attached to the Mgmt, start here:

Correct, in your case, you would attach all the licenses via management server, as it would technically be central license.
