Update Management APIs versions

Hi CPmates,

i can't find any reference about this question: Is it possible to update the management api engine in a similar fashion like the gaia api (without a management upgrade)?

Thanks

Improvements to the management API require upgrading the underlying management.
Previously, this required a full version upgrade, though recently we backported some selected APIs as part of jumbo hotfixes for older versions.
However, to leverage all the latest management APIs, you need to be on the latest management version.

Short answer - no.
Long answer - in some cases, API is updated with JHF. For example, R80.40 came out with 1.6 API engine, but was later lifted to 1.61 with Jumbo hotfix accumulator packages.

Thank you PhoneBoy and Val for your clarifications.
So if some new apis will be updated for specific version, let me say v1.4, i can quickly check if the version v1.4.x has been introduced in  Api Reference
Is it right?

There is no 1.4.x, but yes, this is a general idea.

You can check either connecting to API Reference guide on your own server, or by running "api status" command. In addition, login to API returns SID and API version too.

Where we've revved the API version in the process, yes.
The only place we've done this so far is R80.40 JHF 78+ with v1.6.1.
An R80.30 JHF had the same APIs added as R80.40 JHF 78+ but we didn't rev the API version in the process.
The only other case we added an API to a previous version was the new domain migration API (added in a R80.20 JHF).
